Open Source Tools for Education

The Guide to Computer Training has an interesting list of open source programs well suited for educational uses. While there are many such lists, this one covers pretty much the most important applications directly related to educational use.

The site also has a useful listing of schools that offer IT degrees of various types. While it may not be difficult to find schools with IT degrees -- probably most universities have a computer science department -- it is not always easy to find only the schools that offer a specific specialty. There is also a review section. Over time, the review section will hopefully become more useful as students and former students report on their experiences.
